MARCHING AHEAD ATHLETIC MEET, 2016

‘Marching Ahead Athletic Meet- cum – Prize Distribution Ceremony’, The annual sports day of DAV Multipurpose Public School, Sonepat was held on 31st January 2016 at the school ground in a frolicsome atmosphere. The chairman, LMC Sh. Inderjeet Batra ji graced the occasion as the chief guest. Mrs. Adarsh Kohli, the manager of the school presided over the function.

The grand opening ceremony was graced by the presence of school officials, the Principal, Mr. V. K. Mittal and other luminaries of the town. The ceremony was auspicated with the recital of DAV Anthem followed by according floral welcome to the guests. The school sports flag was unfurled by the Chief Guest on the tunes of the National Anthem followed by Inspection of Parade and Mashaal Ceremony. The march past by the houses and NSS unit exhibited discipline and hardcore practice of the students. The school Head-Boy administered the solemn oath to the house captions and the participants. The principal along with the guests officially declared the Sports Meet Open and released balloons symbolizing the vibrant hopes of the sporting students that were flying high. The sports torch was carried by the School Head boy and other house captions. Welcome-song by the school choir mesmerized one and all. Then there was the aerobics presented by the students that kept spectators spellbound.

The long awaited athletics events were held which included track events and other innovative events like getting ready for school, bursting balloons, frog-race etc. the students participated enthusiastically in all of them. Madam Adarsh Kohli addressed the gathering wherein she outlined briefly the value of sports ad games in student’s life & possibilities of career options in this field. Prizes were distributed for academics and sports events for students of Classes III – XII.      Tae-kwondo, Dumble show and patriotic Dance stole the show and provided recreational relief. There was a surprise event for the parents which enthralled them further.

The last items of the eventful day was the de-hoisting of the sports flag, signaling the official closing of the school’s Annual Sports Day for the year. Vote of thanks was presented by the Principal. Shanti Path was the closing recital of the Day.
